haudraulic & pipe stress analysis

Where customized, integrated solutions
meets flawless execution

Whiteley’s engineering team has extensive experience working with a wide variety of industry accepted hydraulic modeling softwares. Our staff can provide a wide range of hydraulic modeling services for single phase (liquids, gas), multi-phase, and dense phase fluids for both steady state and dynamic modeling applications. Whiteley’s engineering staff is experienced in modeling piping systems for both static and dynamic situations.

Pipe Stress Analysis

Pipe stress analysis is an analytical method of determining how a piping system behaves based upon pipe materials and sizes; operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, and fluid contents; loading parameters such as insulation weight, external equipment movements, and wind or earthquake criteria.

Whiteley’s engineering staff is experienced in modeling piping systems for both static and dynamic situations.  This includes the evaluation of static load requirements based upon information such as pipe layout, valve location, vendor provided equipment information, space constraints, and access requirements along with dynamic stresses generated by both fluid dynamics and equipment forces.

We provide tailored solutions to fit our clients needs.

Hydraulic Analysis

Improper pipeline design and inefficient operation can limit flow capacities, cause increased operational costs, and increase system downtime.  Hydraulic modeling and system optimization can ensure that pumps, control valves, and operational schemes are properly aligned to mitigate downtime and ensure efficient, cost-effective operation.

Our services & hydraulic modeling capabilities include, but are not limited to: pipeline sizing, horsepower calculations, pump / compressor station location optimization, line fill calculations, DRA modeling, start-up / shutdown sequencing, control system modeling, operational cost optimization, surge relief system design, and pump operating point mapping.

Whiteley’s engineering team has extensive experience working with a wide variety of industry accepted hydraulic modeling software including:

DNV products (Synergi Pipeline Simulator, Synergi Gas
AFT products (Fathom, Impulse, Arrow)
Pipeline Studio
in-house developed programs
